Well, now, that's something! And then go home again after three hours of it...and then to think that tomorrow I can do it all over again!American author Jack London
  • You get a feeling on certain trails, when you're reacting like you and your machine are just one thing. It's the feeling of physical exertion and speed and technique all wrapped into one.American cross-country and marathon mountain bike racer Ned Overend

A cyclo-cross bicycle is a bicycle designed specially to handle the rigors of cyclo-cross racing, in which riders combine mountain bike cross-country, criterium, and road racing skills to navigate repeatedly a small course comprising pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills, and obstacles, the traversing of which requires a bicycle that a rider might dismount with celerity. Such bicycles are similar in form to those ridden by road cyclists but are characterized by a different general geometry and by thicker tires, used in order that the cycle might better survive muddy trails.
